Why Kalos?

Unlike traditional employability programmes, every young person learns inside a working creative merchandise studio, contributing to real client projects for recognised brands while receiving mentoring from creative professionals. This commercial environment allows participants to develop practical experience, build professional portfolios and understand how creative skills translate into real careers.

Young people build brands, projects and creative ideas from concept to launch for real creative briefs alongside mentoring and workshops from industry experts.

Developing the Next Generation of Creative Talent.

We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to explore a creative career. That's why we've created a structured employability pathway that combines real client work, industry mentoring and hands-on experience inside a working London merchandise studio.

By creating clear progression from creative taster sessions through to paid internships and alumni opportunities, we're helping build a stronger and more inclusive creative workforce across South London.

Creative Taster Sessions

Our Open Studio sessions are free, monthly creative taster sessions designed to introduce young people aged 16-24 to the creative industries in a welcoming, professional studio environment.

Through practical workshops, live client briefs and collaborative creative projects, participants explore careers in branding, merchandise, content creation, design and entrepreneurship while developing confidence, transferable workplace skills and valuable industry connections.

For many young people, Open Studio is their first experience of working within a creative studio and acts as the entry point into our wider employability pathway, progressing into work experience, studio internships and long-term creative opportunities.

By removing financial barriers and creating an accessible space to learn, experiment and connect, Open Studio helps build a stronger pipeline of diverse creative talent across London.

≤20 HOUR WORK EXPERIENCE

Our Creative Work Experience Programme gives young people a practical introduction to working within a professional creative studio in London.

Delivered over placements of up to 20 hours, participants gain first-hand experience across merchandise production, branding, design, printing, marketing and creative business operations while contributing to genuine client projects.

Designed for schools, colleges, PRUs, youth organisations and referral partners, the programme helps young people explore creative careers, build confidence and develop transferable workplace skills in a supportive environment.

It provides an accessible first step into the creative industries while strengthening employability and career aspirations.

6-12 MONTH STUDIO INTERNSHIP

Our Studio Internship is a structured 2–6 month employability programme that provides young people with meaningful paid employment opportunities and industry experience to develop creative and professional skills within a real London merchandise and print studio.

Interns work alongside our team on live commercial projects, gaining hands-on experience in branding, garment printing, content creation, marketing, operations and entrepreneurship.

By combining industry mentoring with real client work, the programme helps participants build confidence, strengthen their CV and portfolio, and develop the experience needed to progress into employment, further education or self-employment.

For funders and partner organisations, the internship delivers measurable employability outcomes while creating a direct pathway into London's creative industries.

STUDIO AMBASSADOR (ALUMNI)

The Studio Ambassador Programme supports graduates of our internships and work experience programmes to continue their creative journey beyond their initial placement. Ambassadors return to support new participants, contribute to client projects and lead community initiatives, creating a sustainable cycle of peer learning and leadership.

Our alumni model ensures the impact of every programme continues long after a placement ends. Studio Ambassadors return as mentors, freelancers and creative collaborators, supporting new participants while continuing to build their own careers. This creates a sustainable cycle of opportunity where today's participants become tomorrow's role models.

Whether you're a school, college, local authority, charity, foundation or brand, we'd love to explore how we can work together to create more opportunities for young people across London.

We can support referrals, deliver employability programmes, host work experience placements or develop bespoke partnerships aligned to your organisation's social impact goals.
